1. Open the source

We prefer the retailer’s current flyer or official offer page. A copied image, search snippet, or old social post can point to an offer but does not establish that it is current or complete.

2. Confirm validity dates

We look for start and end dates plus weekend, one-day, or page-level exceptions. If a date cannot be confirmed, the content should not present the offer as current.

3. Match the product and package

Brand, product name, size, count, selected varieties, grade, cut, and preparation can all change the comparison. A similar photo is not enough.

4. Normalize the unit

We calculate price per 100 g, kilogram, pound, 100 mL, litre, or item as appropriate. Mass, volume, and count are not crossed without a known product-specific relationship.

Example

$6.45 for 500 g = $1.29/100 g = $12.90/kg.

Both outputs describe the same package and can be checked with the Unit Price Calculator.

5. Separate membership and quantity conditions

A member price, loaded offer, coupon, points promotion, multi-buy, limit, and after-limit price are separate facts. We do not assume one retailer’s loyalty rules apply to another.

6. Check store and location scope

Province, region, selected store, online channel, pickup location, and participating-store wording can change eligibility. We direct readers to select their own store and confirm the current offer.

7. Human review and correction path

Before substantive content is treated as ready, a reviewer checks the arithmetic, source support, conditions, links, and wording. Uncertainty is stated instead of filled with a guess. Readers can send corrections to info@caflyer.net.

What this method does not guarantee

It does not guarantee inventory, checkout outcomes, retailer action, price accuracy after an update, or savings for every household. The current official offer and the store’s shelf or checkout result remain the final purchase reference.
