Grocery Sale Terms in Canada: English–Chinese Glossary
Translate the condition, then check how it applies to the exact product, date, quantity, membership, and store.
Core sale and price terms
Terms that often hide a second price
Three translation traps
- “Each” means one sale unit, which may be one package—not necessarily one piece inside the package.
- “Free” in a buy-one-get-one offer still depends on eligible items, required quantity, and the price assigned to returns or substitutions.
- “Family size” describes marketing format; it does not guarantee a lower unit price or a standard weight.
Use the glossary at the shelf
- Find the large price and the complete line of qualifying text.
- Match the exact package size and variety.
- Check date, membership, quantity, limit, and store location.
- Convert the unit or multi-buy price before comparing.
- Confirm the expected result at checkout and keep the receipt.
